Our Beans

This is an excerpt from our Roasters website.  It will give you an idea of what we believe coffee should be about.

“We are committed to a more informed public, to reaching and educating the majority of the population who walk the earth thinking that their coffee is as good as it gets. The ones who take refuse in the ideology that their trusted coffee source are big and wealthy so they must be doing something good for the human race. The ones who buy their beans based upon which company offers the flashiest packaging, and slickest sales pitch.”

“Truth is, there is hope, the quality of coffee is unlimited, the disconnect between consumers and a global language necessary to appreciate the true nuances of coffee is all that separates the two. We are part of a movement committed to raising the level of expectation and quality in the coffee world. We will scour the globe sourcing the top 3% of the coffees produced at each origin. We will work with struggling underdeveloped countries possessing specialty coffee growing potential but lacking the knowhow. We will resist the capitalistic inclination to let our ego’s overrule our convictions, we will stay true to our humble beginnings by way of investing in coffee, the future of coffee and the education the connects insures the two.”

At Bean There Cafe we are dedicated to serve you the highest quality coffee possible.  Each of our coffees rate above 81 points on the Specialty Coffee Association of America scale.  In order to ensure freshness, we order small quantities of fresh roasted coffee each week.  Not a single bag of coffee on our shelves is more than a week out from the roasting date.  Here are a few of our favorite coffees that we serve in our cafe!

  • Espresso Cavallo-Consistency and dependability meet class and beauty making resso Cavallo a true thoroughbred. Sophisticated fruits and nuts resonate throughout the dosing chamber. You’ ll fall in love with just one glimpse of the lush mahogany crema as it teasingly drips off the spouts towards a full stride. Experience an incredibly balanced mouthfeel that is powerfully alive with cocoa, walnuts and orange marmalade. Add to milk and the same notes are joined by warm caramel and berry flavors. Espresso Cavallo is a true competitor as the bittersweet chocolate stays with you long after the race.
  • Bean There House Blend-The sweet floral fruity aromas give way to the deep rich baker’s chocolate and caramel the blend holds inside. Buttery toast finds its way to linger in the mouth earning this blend a perfect morning cup to start the day.
  • Kenya AA-As expected with natural processed coffees, this Kenya has tons of bold yet balanced body that contributes to a sophisticated harmony of Meyer lemons, lime, berries, figs and dates. One of the true “Velvet Hammer” coffees of the world, the silky mouthfeel packs a bold wallop leaving your palate clean, smooth and satiated.
  • Ethiopia Harrar-The intense essence of rich berries, raisins and peaches resonate from the cup. This medium bodied coffee leaves your palate with a snap of acidity and a full rich dry red wine finish.
  • Sumatra Mandeling-Sophisticated, pungent aroma with hints of floral and apricot-toned fruit opens up immediately upon grinding. In the cup medium body, syrupy mouth feel, sweetly subtle cedar enhanced by caramel, apricots and a long sweet tobacco finish. Suggest this coffee to those who shy away from caffeinated coffee or struggle with acidity from other coffees.
  • Italian Blend-Big, bold and rich dark chocolate fill the cup with just the right balance of a west coast roast. It tells you immediately that this is classic Seattle meets Sicily coffee. Subtle hints of ripe black cherries and chocolate fill the mouth with a dry oaky finish that pleasantly lingers.
